Reading plays a big role in a student's life; it can help them improve their communication and listening skills. The student’s vocabulary will also expand when they learn how to read. Many students have poor reading skills and they are not improving even though their grade levels are going up. A child's reading skills are important to their success in school as they will allow them to access the breadth of the curriculum and improve their communication and language skills.
Difficulty with reading is a common problem—about one in five people (including children) struggle with reading in some way. And since it is such an important skill, reading difficulties can cause trouble in other areas of learning, including writing, spelling, fluency, and comprehension. These barriers make it very hard for students to perform well in school and often lowers self-esteem
To help the students to lessen their struggles, the proponents proposes a campaign or project entitled, “Infinity Chapters: A Literacy Club for Students in Malabag Silang, Cavite Who Are Having Reading Difficulties”, that aims to provide a learning system to help the students improve their reading.
