The Implementation
OVERVIEW
Based on our observations, the number of students who are not improving their reading skills is increasing, and most of us are just neglecting it. Literacy is essential in a student's life as it can enhance their communication and listening abilities as it can also develop the students’ vocabularies. Reading is defined as the ability to comprehend written symbols and analyze printed material. Like walking and talking, learning to read does not happen all at once, but happens gradually through continuous experiences with printed material and reading related activities.
There are many reasons why many students have difficulties in reading, including limited experience with books, speech and hearing problems, and poor phonemic awareness. Reading difficulties are a common problem; one out of every five people has some difficulty with reading. Reading issues can also cause problems in other areas of learning, such as writing, spelling, fluency, and comprehension, because it is such an essential skill. These challenges make it more difficult for students to do well in school and can lead to low self-esteem.
To help the students lessen their struggles, the proponents propose a project entitled ““Infinity Chapters: A literacy club for Students in Malabag Silang, Cavite who are having Difficulties in Reading” that aims to provide a learning system to help the students improve their reading. In making this project, we will build a small club near the two schools in Malabag.These two clubs will be the places for students who need assistance in improving their reading skills. We will provide the books and the things that are needed in this project. In making this project, we will be asking for the help of our barangay officials to make this project successful.
